"Fiddler's Green" is a song about the place cavalrymen go when they die. It is located "Halfway down the trail to hell" and in the end advocates suicide by pistol when death is certain and the hostiles are closing in. This song originated in England. It speaks of a place where fisherman go if they don't go to hell. It dates back to at least the 19th century and is still sung to this day. It found its way to the U.S.A with the help of Cornish settlers. It is also the final resting place for Pirates.
