through local volunteers. Several local hunters arrived on-scene
with their own weapons, the local National Guard division showed
up in full gear, and local emergency crew (police, fire, and
ambulance) were present, all voluntarily. |

| Gaylen Ross refused to scream during the
film. She felt that Fran was a strong female character,
and if she screamed, the strength would be lost. She
told this to Romero once, when he told her to scream, he
never asked her again. |
